vicalan Posted August 14, 2006 Share #1 Posted August 14, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Greetings - Does anyone have experience with the Leica Mini Tabletop tripod? I am going on a trip where I am travelling light, and only bringing the C Lux 1 along. Is the Mini Tabletop tripod useful and practical, and will it do the job for indoor shots of churchs, restaurants, etc. Thanks, Vic
Advertisement Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Hi vicalan, Take a look here Leica Mini Tabletop tripod. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
richam Posted August 14, 2006 Share #2 Posted August 14, 2006 It's an excellent little pod that I take everywhere. I use it with my Digilux2 and CM without any problem. It works well on a horizontal base most anywhere, and also can be held against a wall for vertical shots. It does have a hard time holding up an "M" that has the offset mounting receptacle -- a matter of size and physics, not design. Below is a Digilux 2 image taken with the pod and previously posted to the original forum. Mike Welcome, dear visitor! wda Posted August 14, 2006 Share #3 Posted August 14, 2006 I presume you mean the table tripod, not the tiny support sold for Leica Mini cameras? I use the former and it works well with the D2 and my M6; but I do have the Leica grip fitted to the M all the time and this centres the camera perfectly. marknorton Posted August 14, 2006 Share #4 Posted August 14, 2006 No, I think he means the tiny thing. Personally, I'd just go for a Manfrotto table top tripod which costs about £25. The pukker Leica version is a work of art.
Overgaard Posted August 14, 2006 Share #5 Posted August 14, 2006 The small, tiny, excellent Leica tripod is AWESOME. I've often kept it in my pocket for hugging and admiration... Sometimes I also use it for photographing. It's here: http://www.overgaard.dk/the_good_stuff.html
robert_parker Posted August 14, 2006 Share #6 Posted August 14, 2006 I've the tabletop tripod - only thing is with my version, there's no possibility of vertical adjustment, because there is no ball and socket or pan head. I don't think this is a disadvantage though and find it is also very useful, folded up, as an impromptu handgrip.

grober Posted August 16, 2006 Share #8 Posted August 16, 2006 My much-used Leica tablepod and Leica ballhead went missing after a coast-to-coast flight last fall. No, I'm sure I didn't forget it or lose it. Some eager fingers along the way just couldn't resist. I replaced it with a sturdy one from Manfrotto that fits in one smallish case. A sturdy but portable mini-pod is invaluable for any travel photography. Vibration is the death of many a good shot. -g
