Richard K Posted October 14, 2021 Share #1 Posted October 14, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have looked at my older files taken with Sigma Quattro dp0 and I have to say I’m impressed. Colour and black and white. At the pixel peeping level (yes, I know!), Quattro Foveon is amazing. Their monochrome conversion is great too. Crappy haptics and interface but the sensor is great. Anyone here done comparisons with Q2? Thoughts?

anrando Posted December 12, 2021 Share #2 Posted December 12, 2021 Hello, I have been very impressed with the sigma images when done correctly. The Q2 however is FUN to use and the images are very good. The sigma takes a bit of work to get good images in my opinion, whereas the Leica is almost intuitive. It’s like the Sony. Great images are possible but it’s taking photos with a computer and really takes some thought. The Q series has never given me a “bad” exposure while I have had many bad sigma and Sony photos. As far as pixel peeping goes I like the Leica better, but it is subjective. The lens on my sigma is so so in my opinion. regards, Bill Unland
kirkmc Posted December 14, 2021 Share #3 Posted December 14, 2021 Can't you only work on Sigma images with their software? That would be a dealbreaker for me.
anrando Posted December 22, 2021 Share #4 Posted December 22, 2021 Yes. Sigma software is very limited and Lightroom etc doesn’t support Sigma. It is a cult thing to say the least. W. Unland
pop Posted December 22, 2021 Share #5 Posted December 22, 2021 The transformation of Sigma raw format pictures to other, more usual, formats is not complicated. I can't recall right now how I did it, but I'm certain I did not spend any money on that software.
Charles Morgan Posted December 22, 2021 Share #6 Posted December 22, 2021 I use Lightroom with my SD Quattro Dng files and before that my DP1 XF files with no problem, if up to date that is. Wonderful sensor but a very different beastie to a Q.
