I just got my new Sigma 90mm F2.8 DG DN C lens and got to try it on my Leica CL.  It is lovely, fast af, very sharp and smooth as butter.  BUT a strange thing is happening.  With this lens mounted and a fully charged battery, the battery display drops two bars!  There seems to be no other impact.  However, when I change to my TL 23mm or my TL 18-56mm the charge indicator shows full!

I don't know if this is a real power draw indication or an L-Mount / lens profile issue???  I sent an email off to Sigma Support already and will let you know the outcome.  If anyone has also had this experience, please let me know?

I do not want to leave an incorrect negative remark on the Sigma 90mm F2.8 DG DN C lens.  Further troubleshooting with my CL has turned up what may be a different problem.  When I switch my batteries out, the problem disappears!!!!  I just bought a new Watson AC charger because it has interchangeable adapter plates for the two different types of batteries I use.  When I switch the battery to either a Leica OEM or a Wasabi that were both charged with the Wasabi charger, the problem disappears !!!!   I will post a final result after I have completed all the combinations of charger etc. tests.

So for now and with further shooting under my belt with the Sigma 90mm F2.8 DG DN C lens on my Leica CL, I am absolutely delighted. Examination of the photos I've taken are excellent as judged by me (a 50 year amateur photographer).  The 90mm is quite Amazing and is a very welcome complement to my lens kit along with my TL 23mm and TL 18-56mm.

p.s. now I suppose I must purchase an SL to fully test everything?????

Did you update the firmware on the lens?

I've talked to Sigma and they tell me that should not be an issue, since there has been no updates since the release a few weeks ago.  My UD-11 dock just arrived today and I will run the Optimization Pro App which also checks for updates tomorrow.  However, since the problem was resolved to be an errant battery charger, all my shots with the 90mm have been super with no problems.  It is a wonderful lens.

Here is a shot with the 90mm.  Sorry I didn't have the time to get a range of samples to show.  I post some later.
