Aatt19 Posted September 3, 2021 Share #1 Posted September 3, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello all. Just got a new Q2 today from an authorized dealer after being on back order. unpacked, charged the battery to full and thought I was ready to go no luck, no LED LIGHTS, no screen…nothing at all. anyone seen such a problem? I thought there would be some simple testing out of the factory? thanks!

The shop is not local it was a very prominent online retailer in NYC that happens to be closed for the bunch of days. I was hoping it wasn’t something stupid besides flipping the switch or a hard reset or something. Like I said, I find it hard to believe it passed inspection like this. that is my next step mid week…huge let down after such a wait!

Are you sure the battery has been charged properly? maybe it is a battery issue not a camera issue
jaapv Posted September 3, 2021 Share #5 Posted September 3, 2021 It is all electronics. Early failure is not unknown. And, unfortunately, not predictable.
Aatt19 Posted September 3, 2021 Author Share #6 Posted September 3, 2021 I’d like to think that but the battery charger is telling me it’s charged. It’s gone from blinking to 80 to full. I did take it off and put it back on a couple of times and it did the same thing rather quickly….so that seems right. When I flip the switch nothing happens. No visual or mechanical movement. so odd. jaapv Posted September 4, 2021 Share #8 Posted September 4, 2021 It did. That is what the final inspection is for But that is only a 99,99% guarantee that it will start up the next time. And it is the reason you get a warranty.
Peter Helmetag Posted September 7, 2023 Share #9 Posted September 7, 2023 I have the same trouble with my Q2. I’ve had it for less than a year. The battery is fully charged and new. It worked perfectly until I turned it off. Now it won’t turn on. The screen is black. It’s never been abused in anyway and only has a few hours on it. This is a really disappointing camera. For the money I spent I would have thought it would have worked better. I’m on a once in a life time trip and now have nothing to use. I’ve had a lot of Leicas before but this one is awlful. I wish I had my old M6 so I could at least get some pictures. The reliability of this camera is zero. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know other than returning it to Leica. I’m in a remote location so I can’t replace it until the trip is over. Thanks
Phil75 Posted September 7, 2023 Share #10 Posted September 7, 2023 In such a case of a new, faulty product, I send it back and simply cancel the order, then place a new one at the same shop or somewhere else that offers immediate shipping. No need to discuss or negotiate anything with the seller.
Le Chef Posted September 7, 2023 Share #11 Posted September 7, 2023 Try a different memory card.
