Rangeman133 Posted September 2, 2021 Share #1 Posted September 2, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anybody know where I can find sample photos taken with this lens, specifically using the M8? After several years of shooting, I've realized I'm a 35mm person, so I am currently looking for a 28mm lens for the M8. From what I understand, this 'vintage' asph voigtlander lens is relatively new? Has anybody used this lens on the M8? And would you recommend? Thank you
Advertisement Posted September 2, 2021 Posted September 2, 2021 Hi Rangeman133, Take a look here The "new" 28mm voigtlander asph vintage f/2 on the M8. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
JohnW. Posted September 3, 2021 Share #2 Posted September 3, 2021 Search the 2 topics above yours and search for "28mm voigtlander F2", there are many examples both color and B/W.

Thank you, yes I did notice some recent photos taken with a 28mm voigtlander lens, which likely could be the new asph vintage version. The price difference between this new lens, and the previous version is around 400 USD. From the samples i've seen on the m10, it looks like a great lens

Unfrotunately in Europe it is actually short and I had to cancel my order ... Here at Fred Miranda you can find a lot of great eaxamples with his M9 and other Bodies. (I read the whole thread and was very excited)https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1704868/ Never saw it with a Leica M8, but I think the new lens should shine there too! adan Posted September 20, 2021 Share #6 Posted September 20, 2021 Just for the record, there are THREE different Voigtlander 28mm f/2-ish lenses. Gotta be sure which one you are getting (or are looking at pictures from). 28mm Ultron f/1.9 (Leica screw-mount, easily adaptable to M - a dreamy and romantic "character" lens at f/1.9) 28mm Ultron f/2.0 (version I, still available): https://shop.cameraquest.com/voigtlander-leica-mount-lenses/voigtlander-28mm-f/2-ultron-lens/ 28mm Ultron f/2.0 (Aspherical), new optical design, just introduced): https://shop.cameraquest.com/voigtlander-leica-mount-lenses/voigtlander-28mm-f/2-ultron-aspherical-vm-type-i/ The f/2.0 Ultron v.1 has curvature of field (corners focused closer to the camera than the center) - but on an M8 which crops off the corners anyway, possibly not a big deal. The Aspherical I have not tried yet, but based on Voigtlander's other recent revisions, should be at least as good as the v.1, if not better.
