SL 601 battery charger failed

My SL 601's, BC-SCL4 charger suddenly ceased working and because it's a sealed unit I cannot determine the cause of its failure ... checked the obvious possibilities eg power cable and terminals. Managed to source a s/h unit which arrives tomorrow but meantime a forum member suggested replacing with a Nitecore unit  https://www.nitecore.co.uk/Shop/Products/Chargers/13657-Nitecore-ULSL-Leica-Camera-Charger.html#Description. ... I should have ordered a new Nitecore instead of the s/h Leica unit. Nitecore has been mentioned on the forum previously ... might be of interest to anyone else seeking a replacement charger. A new Leica BC-SCL4 costs  £130 ... Nitecore is just £67.95 ... charger compatible with SL601, SL2 and Q2 batteries.

with the nitecore, just make sure the incoming supply is high enough.. i.e dont plug it into a laptop or something like that

If you have a voltage or multi-meter you can measure across the + and - contacts of the battery. If voltage is below 3v then it’s probably toast.

^^ already tested with multi-meter and no output current from the charger. Replacement s/h charger arrived today from Ffordes and batteries recharged.
