I have a Q2 which i love albeit within its 28mm limitations. To get more focal length I bought a CL with vario elmarit 55-135 which is good.

The SL2-S bundled with the vario 24 - 70 seems like a good deal at the moment and I feel that lens will cover the majority of my requirements i.e for travel and landscape casual photography.

But want to keep either the Q2 or CL with perhaps another lens 23 or 18 -56 for walk arounds.

If i buy the SL I don’t envisage buying any other lenses for it either SL or M in the short / medium term.

I don’t want loads of cameras and feel either the Q2 or the TL should go when the SL is purchased.

Which would align with the SL best for walk arounds when the weight and size of the SL would be a bit much.

Should the keeper be the Q2 or CL ?

Would appreciate your thoughts !

Just wondering. Have you used the SL2 or SL2-S in person? It’s noticeably bigger and heavier than the Q2 and CL. It seems many people buy into the SL2/SL2-S without realizing how big and heavy it is. The shooting experience will be very different than the Q2 or CL.

I have the SL2-S and CL. I used to have the M240, but sold it because I wasn't using it - squeezed between the other two. I suspect you would find the same with your Q2, much though you love it now.

The SL series are great cameras that can do anything and produce the finest images - but they are large and heavy, even with M lenses. The CL is a light, capable, carry anywhere camera. For casual, social/family, street and much travel use you really do not need bleeding edge image quality, but you do need convenience, high IQ, discreetness and speed. The CL does all that. The SL2-S (and SL2) can produce images of the finest quality when used with care, for considered landscapes, portraits etc. I don't do much landscape, but for portraits, events, stage etc, it is superb, and I just don't notice the weight (even with the shockingly good 90-280). But (IMO) you would be wasting its capabilities if you did not use it with Leica's native L lenses.
