Kampermann Posted July 3, 2021 Share #1 Posted July 3, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Going extra wide with a Laowa 9 mm (around 14 mm APS-C). The lens is compact and light and has a magical effect in conjunction with the Leica sensor. Manual focussing is almost abundant, most of the time you even forget to adjust the focus with such a wide lens. It has a strong light fall off in landscape photo's, nut nothing that can be handled in Lightroom. The distortion is (very) low, sharpness is biting and colors and contrast remain 'leica-ish'. It is a very recommendable lens at the far edge of wide photography. Welcome, dear visitor! Rosebud55 Posted December 30, 2021 Share #4 Posted December 30, 2021 I have been using the X Mount version on my xt3 and wondered how it performs on the CL. I may have to get another version, unless there is an x to L Mount adapter? rosie
Charle Who Posted January 7, 2022 Share #5 Posted January 7, 2022 I am also very interested in LAOWA’s 9MM lens, but I have been struggling to buy L-mount or M-mount? Although both lenses can be used on other brands of cameras by adapting, I think there are more people adapting to M-mount than L-mount. But the closest focusing distance of M-mount is farther than L-mount. It's so hard to choose!!!

I'd go for the native L mount, because of focusing distance and because if nobody buys the L mount releases, companies will simply stop making them

swatch Posted July 1, 2022 Share #8 Posted July 1, 2022 Does 9mm Cine version has less light fall off than standard version as filter size is bigger? What are benefits or advantages of Cine version (more expensive) over standard version?
vanhulsenbeek Posted July 3, 2022 Share #9 Posted July 3, 2022 Only a CL owner with both lenses would be able to tell
