Anyone else not happy with the way the current version of C1 renders Q2 files? Or was the issue much worse than this before the update that fixed it? When compared to the in-camera JPEGs and Lightroom, I'm seeing:

  1. too much saturation
  2. compressed tone curve (dark midtones)
  3. too much cyan
  4. too much red

Kind of feels like someone at Phase One misses the M9 aesthetic, lol.

Switching the C1 profile to "SL2 Generic" reduces thee saturation, but the cyan/red issue persists. Using the "Adobe DNG Neutral" profile in C1 also isn't right – too far the other direction and is much too desaturated.

Note: I will ignore posts telling me I should make my own profiles – that's not going to happen, sorry :)

I'm using Capture One 14.2.0.136 (which is what I assume you mean by "the current version") and have no complaints at all about the Q2 profile. For me the satruation problem was fixed by an update to the previous version of Capture One issued in January last year.

I'll make two caveats. First, I don't have LR so can't compare with that (and I never shoot jpegs). Second, our colours here in the UK tend to the green perhaps rather more than do yours 😀 and in my experience the current profile handles those very well.

Sorry not to be more helpful—but I really don't have any complaints about the current Q2 profile in Capture One. Of course, it may be that I'm simply used to the profile now.

how about white balance ? is it correctly set ?

Most color issue comes from wrong white balance

It’s about C1 rendering the same DNG image differently than LR. For the same image, LR is close to matching reality, but C1 is not.

Yes, I am in a somewhat Mars-like environment at higher altitude, and at sunset, the color of the light can be unusual. For normal daylight or indoor shots, I don’t much notice anything wrong with C1.

Sorry if I reopen this topic.
I recently tried a Q2 and I've encountered the same problems as this post.
I use Capture one 12.1.5 but I get the same results with a trial version of Capture one 16.2.01.
- oversaturated colors
- compressed tonal scale (flat tones) it seems that the colors have no shades.
Capture one with my M10 works great.
Can anyone help me?
