Match Technical EP-SL2 Thumbs Up

Anyone any bad experience to note about the Match Technical EP-SL2 Thumbs Up on your SL2 or SL2-S? I’m mildly interested now but my concern is it may impede the free and smooth operation of the joystick … Or any other potential issues?

It works as expected. Match has excellent products. No issues accessing the joystick. The only issue for that specific model could be that you need to pack the (supplied) allen wrench with you if you might use the hot shoe. You'll need it to mount and dismount the grip. 

But.....The grip makes these tanks much easier to balance (IMO)

I use the Leica thumb support on my CL and wouldn’t live without it, it’s so useful. When using the allen key is there any danger to overtighten the screw and damage the hotshoe?

I had the thumbs up for the SL2-S and hated it. For my hand (normal size) the angle of the thumb rest was too abrupt and and made it difficult to hold the camera using the grip. It  was a bit difficult to easily slide my thumb to the joy stick, too. This is my own experience and YMMV. Best to try it at your local Leica shop.

I've been very happy with their thumbs up for the M10 and Q.
