I noticed that John Lewis have a good price for the CL. Body only is £1,575 (from £2,250) and it seems that only 3 are left in black, more offered in silver.

Of course I have no relationship to them, I am just copying it here in case anyone wants to buy one.

That is interesting. In my experience,  John Lewis has not been a typical stockist of Leica cameras. It would appear to be closure on that particular model. Fingers crossed?

I think that in this case it is John Lewis streamlining its business and clearing out specific lines and products. I would not take it as a reflection on Leica and its strategy. I see the black cameras are gone now, only silver left.

I wonder why they do not stock Leica lenses in L-mount?

If the store is clearing out their lines of the remaining cameras as units they haven’t been moving the lenses were most likely never carried in any volume and probably even more sparingly recently.

i don’t think even B&H in New York ever has a large number of any one CL lens in their inventory. If there’s a specific lens you are searching out, the Leica Stores are most likely where they’ll be sourced from, and even they are often out of stock on many  models.

I figure production is rather limited these days. I used to see many more second-hand CL bodies and lenses at the Leica Store Miami especially, than you will see checking in with them today.

Several references around lately from people who seem to be well informed about what is coming from Leica, all saying no new CL in the pipeline.  Disappointing but it just means my already worn out looking CL will have to last a bit longer😀.

Thanks for the link - I purchased one earlier.  CL in black £1575.  A bargain.  Now to source the 23mm F2 summicron.  And that's me very happy.

Thanks for letting me know, great to hear someone took advantage of the price reduction, makes it worth sharing such info.

Looking forward seeing your images when you get a lens .

Leica CL bundles with either 18 mm or 18-56 lens are still listed on Leica's website but not to be found in Leica's online shop. Some of the TL lenses like the 11-23 mm or 55-135 mm are not available online too. If you check the availability with Leica Stores in Germany the majority does not have CL cameras in stock. Thus it seems there is something going on: either preparations for a new model or the end of the CL line.

From reading general new camera gossip, the CL2 is delayed until next year, but was expected, well, now. If that was the case, Leica won’t have made any CLs to sell for the rest of the year as they would have been selling CL2s. Hasn’t stopped Leica releasing variants of Ms though, so this could all be rubbish!

I sold mine a few months ago for 1300 euros with nearly no warranty left and bought a new one (2 years warranty) a few days ago for 1100 euro in Paris
