Nash Posted May 26, 2021 Share #1  Posted May 26, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi I have a Sl2s and been using a remote lead to fire Camera.and all ok .But when connected to my Drop art control box the Camera will not fire the shutter .all that happens is the rear scream flashes.so I get the opinion that this unit is not compatible with the Leica.but cable connection is same as my hand remote that works 🤔And this unit works with cano and Nikon without a problem.any suggestions thanks Paul

helged Posted May 26, 2021 Share #2  Posted May 26, 2021 Hi! As far as I understand (and based on my experience), SL2/SL2-S follows the Panasonic protocols (4-pole plug), so whatever works for Panasonic Lumix S1/S1R/S1H/S5 should also work with Leica SL2/SL2-S. Note, however, that Leica uses a 3.5mm plug whereas the Panasonic a 2.5mm plug, so you may need a 2.5mm-to-3.5mm plug adapter. Some 2-pole plugs also works on SL2/SL2-S.
cbs777 Posted May 27, 2021 Share #3 Â Posted May 27, 2021 Does anyone have any experience with Alpine Labs Spark with an SL2/SL2-s? I previously used their Pulse remote with a Nikon D800 and it was very good. Thanks in advance! Regards Colin

The Alpine Labs Spark site states that S1 uses a 3-pole plug which is incorrect; the S1 uses a 4-pole plug (as S1R). Contact Alpine Labs Spark to check the S1-compatibility. Or, use MIOPS as shown in my previous post, it works with Leica SL2/SL2-S with a 2.5mm to 3.5mm plug adapter. I use the latter on SL2-bodies, as well as for Leica S-bodies.

jmhvp Posted October 12, 2022 Share #7  Posted October 12, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I know this topic is old but to help others, I found a shop where you can buy this cable. They will also send international. You can find it here: https://blackforestmotion.com/en/produkt/shutter-release-cable/ You need to select Leica - SL2 and you will get a 2,5mm (3pin) to 3,5mm (4pin) cable which is the same as the Panasonic L1, only with 3,5mm instead of 2,5mm. So perfect for the Leica SL2 and other cameras with the 3,5mm connector. I tested it with the LRTimelapse Pro Timer and the Leica SL2.  1
