keithpitts Posted May 14, 2021 Share #1 Posted May 14, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi! I just recently bought a beautiful used, near mint (I can't find a blemish) M10P from a very reputable Leica dealer recently. The ISO dial is difficult to raise. Once raised it turns and lowers without difficulty or any sign of anything wrong. Is this normal? Common? I am LOVING the camera and hope I don't have to part with it to get it repaired under warranty. Thank you. My only other experiences with Leica's are my M3 and an M5 I borrowed years ago from a friend (much maligned yet wonderful camera as I recall). Thank you! Gobert Posted May 14, 2021 Share #2 Posted May 14, 2021 How you described it, sounds not OK.
AKW Posted May 14, 2021 Share #3 Posted May 14, 2021 The ISO selector on my camera is pretty heavy to lift but I don't know if it's normal, i have no experience with other camera individuals. Maybe you could go to the store to compare the selector on another camera?
rramesh Posted May 14, 2021 Share #4 Posted May 14, 2021 The ISO dial needs to be lifted with two fingers. I would have preferred a dial that could have been lifted with just the flick of the thumb. Sometimes I just leave it up when shooting. It's easier to rotate when viewing through the viewfinder.
a.noctilux Posted May 14, 2021 Share #5 Posted May 14, 2021 This M3 style knob for ISO is clever idea from Leica for M10. Good thing is we can let it on up position when in use. Good idea also to lift it with two fingers (help of two fingernails if need be in my case), it's "rightly stiff".
keithpitts Posted May 14, 2021 Author Share #6 Posted May 14, 2021 Thanks. It sounds as if mine is no worse than a few of yours. It would have been nice if it was a bit easier to raise but it works well and I love the camera. Thanks for your replies.
Gobert Posted May 14, 2021 Share #7 Posted May 14, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have two bodies. With both the iso dial goes smoothly, but not too smoothly. Exactly perfect I would say and it didn’t cost me any nails.

Keith Is there some reason you didn't discuss this with the shop you bought it? Sounds normal to me, but better to get an official opinion I think before too many days.
