Stupid question on tape

I want to cover my beautiful red logo, but don’t want to damage it. What is the best tape to not leave residue and isn’t effected by heat. I live in Arizona.

I recommend Washi black tape. Most use gaffa or duct tape which are heavier and leaves a sticky residue.

Leica provides black and silver tape with red dots printed on it to safely cover the red dot. Ask Customer Service.

 If you find the dot beautiful why cover it?  It is good theft protection. The few thieves that recognize it are aware that a stolen Leica is hard to sell.
