I have a Leica T but cannot get photos I have taken from it onto my PC. I dont have an SD card it in, so I connected it to my PC via USB cable. My PC wont recognize the camera, it doesnt come up as a connected device.

So then I tried the Fotos app, but it wont connect to my phone. I follow the steps but no QR code will appear to connect the two.

I am at a loss, I really just want my photos as they are important to me.

If I buy an SD card now and put it in the camera, will the camera transfer the photos onto the SD card?

Even if the camera has a 16 GB internal memory, it is basically meant to be used with an SD card, the storage facility in the camera is just an extra for emergency use. The simplest albeit slightly roundabout solution is using an SD card. Get a 32 GB one. When you insert the card in the camera you can copy the contents of the internal memory to the card and read out the card on your computer using a card reader. Don't forget to format the internal memory after you have downloaded your files. Always back up your photographs at least to an external disk, even better to a sophisticated backup system.

In future use the camera with a card.

You can download the manual from Leica's website.

I am not familiar enough with the camera to know whether it has a menu choice between PTP and Mass Storage. If so, setting it to M.S. should have it show up as a disk drive on you computer.

Yolana, welcome!

It appears that you are driving your 'T' blind. It is worth investing time reading the User Guide for your camera from the link given above. If you still have questions, members of the forum will help you.

Hello. @Yolana    :

In addition to the advice given by colleagues, I want to add the following:

I have Leica TL2 and I really like how easy it is to transfer data to the computer and charge its battery from the computer via USB, I have rarely had to remove the battery to charge it. I carry a second non-original backup battery but I almost always use the original one, always charged from the computer.

Have you checked if you can charge the battery from the computer?

I'm telling you this because if the charging light doesn't turn on, two things can happen:
* The cable has no connection due to its failure. You would have to try another cable.
* The operating system of the computer is very old and does not recognize the camera, which should appear as if it were a hard disk.

Tell us if you managed to correct the failure.
