ymc226 Posted April 20, 2021 Share #1  Posted April 20, 2021 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I want to use several SF60s on light stands with the flash aimed away from the subject and reflected back using either silver or white colored interior umbrellas.  Is there a correct setting for the zoom on the flash to be set to?  I read that the zoom setting vary from 24 to 200mm.   I will be using the SF CF1 on either my SL or SL2. Advertisement Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Hi ymc226, Take a look here SF60 flash zoom settings. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Photoworks Posted April 20, 2021 Share #2 Â Posted April 20, 2021 Â I assume you are using it for soft light, in that case 24 will cover more of the surface of the umbrella. another variable is to determine the distance of the SF60 inside the umbrella. close in will give you a center hotspot and a quick falloff. on the furriest position it will be a softer light. The size of the light makes the different in how soft it is. that said the closer you bring it to your subject the softer it will be because it can wrap around the subject.
