Firmware update to 1.1.0.0 fails

Hi, 

I am trying to update my Leica M 246 from fw 1.0.2.0 to 1.1.0.0.

I downloaded the firmware from here: https://ch-de.leica-camera.com/Fotografie/Leica-M/LEICA-M-MONOCHROM/Downloads and followed the fw update procedure:

1- format card 

2- insert card in the computer

3- copy the .FW file in the root of the card

4- insert the card in the camera

5- switch on the camera while keeping the button info pressed.

However, I get the following error:

"file not found

Please insert memory card with correct firmware file"

 

What I am doing wrong???

Please take the SD card out.

Check this :

- card inserted in a computer

- only one file on the SD card root

- file name

M_246-1.1.0.0-CUSTOMER

- size 4 297 Ko

Format card in camera not in computer

As a.noctilux said make sure files is on the root of the card not in a folder.

I have done anything as recommended, many times. But I keep getting the same error. By the way, after that the camera freezes and i have to extract the battery to shut it down. Any other ideas?

Try not holding down the info button.  Just turn the camera on giving it a chance to find the update file.  I had a 240 and this worked for all updates.

I change the card and now it seems to work...

Are 256GB cards a problem for the firmware?

Thanks for advising me. I have the firmware 1.0.2.0 at present.

while trying to upgrade to 1.1.0.0, I am experiencing same difficulty. 
tried on two different cards. 64 and 32 GB capacities. 
I am doing exactly as stated in the above helpful threads.

The card does show exactly as a.noctilux image, when in the Mac, but when I insert it in the M246, nothing seems to register.

With either of the cards in place in M246, I see the firmware 1.0.2.0, ‘firm’ly in place.

I must be doing something wrong. But what it is?
