prk60091 Posted April 9, 2021 Share #2 Posted April 9, 2021 with my M1Air the import process is so fast I cannot tell the difference
beewee Posted April 9, 2021 Share #3 Posted April 9, 2021 In my experience, the Apple USB-C SDXC Reader is faster on the 2018 iPad Pro compared to the USB-C connection to the camera when using the Kingston Canvas React v90 card.
rim_light Posted April 9, 2021 Share #4 Posted April 9, 2021 I measured it with my MacBook Pro: SD file transfer is round about 60% faster than usb-c file transfer. And yes: this is completely different to my experience with the iPad because the iPad just shows the jpg out of the raw and will transfer the whole file when needed only. (which is incredible fast)

(which is incredible fast) I didn’t do a direct measurement but SD card reader transfer felt about 2x faster than USB-C transfer on the iPad. This was using the Files app rather than Photos which also does let you import directly when the camera is mounted as a storage device to the iPad Pro.
