I've shown the Laeiszhof some time ago, headquarters of the shipping company running the iron square riggers such as Peking, Passat, Padua, Pamir and so on.

I took the chance to have a look and found the staircase pretty bright and light-handed for the era.

They still use revolving lifts; some time ago, they were planned to be de-commisioned but had too many fans. A nice background story from the Guardian can be found here.

Thanks a lot, Lucerne and war, since this is an office building (actually still partly used by Laeisz), this one is still accessible to the public.

There is a warning that the revolving lift can't be used by children and otherwise usage is at one's own risk.
