Advertisement (gone after registration)

Here's a strange one, for me anyway. I was shooting (S2) with the 35 on AF-s and the shutter wouldn't fire. I tried my 70 and it was fine. Next I tried the 35 in Manual and then AF-c mode and it worked fine, but again, not in AF-s mode. Perhaps it never achieved focus??? Any ideas out there?

No idea (sorry), but you may check the electronic contacts/pins on the S35.

That's what I would suggest as well. Few years ago, the top display panel of my S2 acted up without displaying information. I cleaned the lens electronic contacts and problems went away, even though they didn't seem related. But give that a try.
