That's not hard to believe. In pre-covid days I was in a coffee shop and a young couple near me sat looking at their phones for about a half hour and never talked. Then they finished their coffee and left, still looking at their phones. It's nuts.

In pre-COVID times my wife and I were waiting for a restaurant table. There was another group waiting. The group of 4 was comprised of what appeared to be 2 parents, 1 grandparent, and 1 ~ 10 year old child. The 3 adults were on their devices the whole time, and the 10 year old was reading a book!  The opposite of what I would expect.
