Advertisement Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Hi Corto Maltese, Take a look here Leica Q2 videos - which setup for sound recording . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
PhotoCruiser Posted March 17, 2021 Share #2 Posted March 17, 2021 There is no way to connect a external mic, so you must record sound with the built-in mic. Chris
piblondin Posted March 18, 2021 Share #3 Posted March 18, 2021 Couldn't you record audio separately and sync it in post?
Krusty Posted May 3, 2021 Share #4 Posted May 3, 2021 Hi, I am also thinking about how to get a good sound for a video made with a Leica Q2. So i think meanwhile everyone knows that the Q2 does not have a connector for an external microphone and so you have to find a different solution. I am thinking about mounting the Leica Q2 on a dual rail, which is used for a Side-Mount of a flash… something like this: UTEBIT Dual DSLR Flash Camera Bracket So when the camera is mounted to the right side, i can mount the rode vlogger kit with my iPhone on the left side Rode Vlogger Kit and then i can mount the small Tripod of the Vlogger kit in the middle. This is not very nice and for sure a little bit bulky but better than using the internal microphone. Best Regards, Krusty. PS: or does anybody know a battery powered microphone with an internal memory which can be mounted on the flash shoe of the Leica as an standalone device? Krusty Posted May 3, 2021 Share #5 Posted May 3, 2021 I found another option: https://de.rode.com/accessories/dcs1 With the Rode DCS you have an cold shoe adapter to mount two different devices on your Leica Q2. One of these devices can be a Rode Wireless Go2 which has an internal Memory and can be used as an Storage. But you can also send the signal to the receiver which is connected to your iPhone in your pocket. The wireless Go also has an Microphone so you do not need an microphone. Or you connect a much better Microphone on to the wireless go and save the audio signal on the wireless go…. I think this a much beetter (but more expensive Setup) for your Leica Q

Then you can easily download it and sync it (even iMovie will do, no fancy sw needed) Leica Q2 + Rode wireless Go II
