OMG, I literally had just finished reading Sean Reids test report on the incredible performance and sharpness of Leica's new 35 APO, and then I read your attached Cartier-Bresson quotation and attached story on sharpness and it stopped me in my tracks as I need to remind myself that its getting out to capture those special photographs is what matters, and if our hands are shaky or we don't have Leica's latest and stunning 35 APO lens all will still be quite good.

Well said.

The thing about the Leica lenses we long to own is:  They are objects 'd art.  They are objects of desire.  They are marvels of engineering.  They are truly rare in the world of photography.  If they were wrist watches, they would say Patek Philippe on their faces, and we Leica connoisseurs understand all that.  There is more to this Leica love thing than just making photographs.  Constantine Manoshttps://vimeo.com/40615195  ) understand this, too.  He is known for his assertion that The Leica is more than a camera, it is a way of life.  I would be hard pressed to disagree with him

With all the above in mind, the thing is this:  Any M lens Leica has ever made has produced or is capable of producing stunning images.  Yes, I want an APO 35 Summicron M.  I want this master work of a lens not for the MFT curves it produces in an optical laboratory but rather for the rendering it produces.  Still though, it is better to start where you are with what you have and photograph your @$$ off.  No Leica camera or lens is "inferior" to another; they are just different from others, that's all.

Work with the camera and lens you have in hand while hoping/saving/dreaming of your holy grail lens.

Another guy who "gets" this Leica thing can be visited here:  https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2014/aug/24/why-i-love-my-leica-john-naughton-photography-camera-technology-cartier-bresson
