I need to take some shots using my 90 Elmarit-M (my longest lens) on my M10-P, but a distance shorter than its minimum focal length. Would a close up lens filter be appropriate? I have not used one but I'm seeing inexpensive options on Amazon. Any thoughts also as to which brand is recommended? The Leica Elpro 52 seems to be an awfully expensive purchase for a few shots.

As I have Elpro from my Leica R days, I tried Elpro 3 ( E55 size to adapt to M lenses) and had the Elpro VIIa for peanut.

This is the same as Elpro III but I happen to have also some Serie VII adapters to most of my M lens size (E46/E49).

With 90mm lens, those Elpro can have focus to about 1:7 to 1:3 ( this rich Elpro page would help for choosing one in second hand market )

So use liveview with those, better yet Visoflex 020.

Another route is using OUFRO/16469 (link to page in Wiki)

limited use to a couple of distances (magnifications) depending on lens in use.
