erl Posted March 11, 2021 Share #1 Posted March 11, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just made the basic mistake of formatting my Lexar 16GB card in my M10. It contained files I had failed to download, which whilst not vital, I would like to recover. Is there any hope, a technique etc that does not cost an arm and a leg to recover my files? Advice appreciated. Thank you.
Advertisement Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 Hi erl, Take a look here File Recovery. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ouroboros Posted March 11, 2021 Share #2 Posted March 11, 2021 Do not use the card since formatting it. Try this, you should be able to recover most, if not all of your missing files as long as you haven't overwritten them. You'll no doubt recover many more files that are lurking in the card directory. 2
erl Posted March 11, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted March 11, 2021 Will try that later tonight. Thanks.
Anbaric Posted March 13, 2021 Share #4 Posted March 13, 2021 Here is a tool I've found very effective: https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec You can try more than one of these tools in sequence, but (as above) don't write anything to the card until you are satisfied you have recovered everything you can. Test the recovered files to make sure they are not corrupt.

Thanks, I’ve been looking for something to that for a while. I tested it on a formatted card and it recovered almost all of the photos. This was on an M1 Mac Mini.
