Pixeleater Posted March 6, 2021 Share #2  Posted March 6, 2021 I’m curious to see when this will be reflected in pricing.
84bravo Posted March 6, 2021 Share #3 Â Posted March 6, 2021 Wonder if this will make the Portugal labeled lenses even cheaper, or will that scheme be suspended now? Â
steveBK Posted March 6, 2021 Share #4  Posted March 6, 2021 I'm sure they'll suspend the Portugal line.  Presumably they shifted just the right final production steps from Germany to Portugal to be able to change the "Made in __" label legally, avoiding tariff.  Likely little cost saving to them on production side. Maybe the short lived  "Made in Portugal" M lens might hold some sentimental, personal or collector value 20 years from now?

astrostl Posted March 6, 2021 Share #6  Posted March 6, 2021 FWIW I did recently ask a major Leica dealer about this and he said that neither he nor anyone else he knows in the industry expects Leica to lower prices post-tariff. We'll see!
