Looking at the time passed between the 50 APO (2013) and the 35 APO (2021), I would not expect it, especially considering the 28 Lux is not that old (2015).

Two lenses that were rumoured are a classic 35/2.8 Summaron and a new 50/1.4 with a closer focusing ability (just like the 35 APO) everything else that was hinted at has been released altough it was stated that there are more lenses coming that are designed to work with the highest resolution sensors.

I have the latest 28 cron and think it is wonderful. Sure it's not in the league of the 2 APOs from what i can see, but it's damn close.

The beauty of the new 35 APO is the 0.3m close focusing and the 300 degree focus range, that is a huge and welcome shift for Leica.

But i use my 28 cron on other cameras, both stills and cine and in both cases i can use a helicoid adapter to move my close focus similar to the 35 APO and actually the results look wonderful there are no real performance issues doing this and i do the same for the 90 APO and the 50 cron.

But if we can somehow petition Leica to continue to update lenses with longer rotations and closer focusing then i'm all over them - the MFD has always been one of my biggest issues with the M lenses. Those two changes, regardless of optics, make them so much more useful IMHO.

cheers
Paul

now that the Leica M  35mm apo is live, is 28mm apo m lens in the cards?

that would be a sweet trio 28mm apo, 35mm apo and 50mm apo paired with a Leica M10 mono.

what a dream kit.

I bet there is going to be a 50mm APO v2 and 75mm APO v2 within the next couple years.
