It's an excellent copy, takes great pictures. But now I finally have a great copy of the 50 pre-asph, and I'm wondering if and for what purpose I'll ever again use the 50 asph. If I want more than acceptably sharp, the pre-asph fits that purpose stopped down just a bit. I don't need the money but am wondering if I should nonetheless sell the 50 asph if I can't find a reason to ever use it over the 50 pre-asph. Any thoughts/suggestions? accurate in minimum focus distance is the reason I keep asph particularly wide open at 1.4 for portrait photography. V3 has back focus at minimum focus distance at 1.4 which can be compensated by user leading back a little bit … for this reason I don’t use it for portrait but street photography (stop down to 3.5 which I find it’s the sweet spot ) because of smaller and lighter than asph.
