Maybe if you are photographing basketball games you will find the SL2 autofocus lacking vs Nikon or Canon. I certainly wouldn’t buy the camera for that purpose. From an optical standpoint, given what the SL summicrons can deliver, not to mention the fact that you can use the EVF to focus M glass with pinpoint accuracy, the SL/SL2 is an incredible platform. and honestly all someone needs to do is look through the photo threads, which are chock full of banal pedestrian dribblings shot on $20,000 lens/body combos, to quickly see that the camera has very little to do with the quality of output. The SL2 is a hugely flexible camera capable of stunning images.
