Advertisement Posted February 23, 2021 Posted February 23, 2021 Hi andybarton, Take a look here Leica Quad Camera in Huawei “phone” up to 50 Mpx. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LocalHero1953 Posted February 23, 2021 Share #2 Posted February 23, 2021 These camera phone specs are just something. Here's an idea - leave the phone stuff out of the next model, and make it dedicated to taking pictures. Now wouldn't that be just awesome? They could even take a leaf out of other brands' books and have separate attachable lenses for different looks. I think Leica could be onto a winner. tom.w.bn Posted February 23, 2021 Share #3 Posted February 23, 2021 Having 50MP on paper is one thing. Having usable 50MP is another thing. I have the P30 Pro with 40 MP and three lenses. Even when shooting DNG you don't want to zoom in 100%, because details look awful. You can print bigger compared to a 20 MP sensor, but you can't use every pixel, forget detail crops.
LocalHero1953 Posted February 23, 2021 Share #4 Posted February 23, 2021 I use a phone camera quite a lot, but as a sort of visual notebook, for social occasions, occasionally social media, or for web sites where cropping and zooming are not needed. Big pixel numbers are a waste, and I no longer bother with raw (rarely worth the effort of post processing). But I do appreciate a phone camera that is responsive, easy to control focus and exposure, and has great colour SOOC. I've been very impressed with my daughter's Google Pixel, though I see no reason to change my Huawei P10 for a while yet.
