The Sandisk UHS-1 series took some liberties with the SD standard to get better speed, and is non compatible with many cameras. I went through 3 UHS-1 cards without ever putting them into the M9 when this issue was noted years ago. Two of the three failed, one with an Olympus EP2 and another with the Format utility from the SD card organization. https://rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109092 Try another card. I didn't note the firmware version of the M9 before I sent it back unfortunately. It did have a sensor replacement towards the end of 2015 so I suppose that suggests it had whatever was current firmware then but not guaranteeing a later version than that. From my research before buying the M9 it was my understanding that the SanDisk cards were what most people seemed to recommend for M9s. Can't say I'd disagree seeing as it did play nice in mine and my GRii. Forum posts like that I think are why I use a Lexar as my main card in my Fuji, but then again when that post was made I was 10 years old. You'd hope if there was some irregularity with SanDisk cards that they would've fixed it by now. My card formatted happily in Windows 10 unlike his by the sounds of it. The serial number looks kosher according to the SanDisk website. I trust my uni shop to be buying good cards - it wasn't some crazy deal I found on eBay. CrystalDiskMark gives me r/w speeds in the right ballpark so I'm confident the card is real.
