Bobby Posted February 17, 2021 Share #1 Posted February 17, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've come to the conclusion that SL2 is probably the best option for what I do. However, I want to use compact lenses. Do M lenses perform well on SL2? Any M lens I should avoid (I'm mostly interested about 50mm and 28mm)? Regarding 28mm: The newest version of Cron-M and Elmarit-M are (optically) improved compared to the older version(s), with improved image quality towards the edges/corners; I'm quite sure @scott kirkpatrick will provide you with link to his edge tests with the above mentioned lenses. The 50mm-APO-M works fine on the SL. As does the 50mm-Lux-M, the latter having a less 'perfect' rendering than the former. For many, 50mm-Lux-M is the incarnation of Leica-M; somewhat soft wide open, very sharp closed down a little, and with pleasant colours.
