As I noted in the first post there is a catch with the Lens Register. The Lens Register is a free software (GPL licensed) primarily aimed at the Linux platform. If you run Windows 10 and there is a Linux subsystem installed it may work (not tested).

Just noticed that... I'm running Win 10, but clearly don't have Linux installed on my computer, as it won't open the file. Oh, well, I guess I'll leave it to people who are more tech savvy than me and will keep using my primitive Excel spreadsheet to keep track of everything. Or is there a simpler way that does not require installing a separate OS?

Never mind. It needs clearly some assembler language skills to get it going. Engineering background would be helpful in particular skills of star delta starter for reducing the inrush starting of M-lens induction motors 😆 Keep on using your Excel spreadsheet.

Due to the enormous interest in this application I am proud to present a new deployment with a few new features.

1. Full-text search FTS (like Google search) allows to search case-independent in almost all columns in the database. You can use the asterisk (*) as a postfix token. When a phrase contains the asterisk (*), it will match any document that contains the token that begins with the phrase. For example, summi* matches with summilux, Summilux, Summicron, summicron and also with some information about the 135mm f/3.4 ASPH Apo-Telyt-M.pdf - courtesy Summilux.net. The application automatically rebuilds the FTS index every day. If necessary it can be manually rebuild in the Administration form.

Example 1: Search for travel

2. Export your personal lens data and import them after a new version has been deployed:

Have fun. Download the app (tar.gz file) here.

Nobody noticed it obviously, I know, but there was major bug in the last release preventing the launch of the application. Version 0.2.19 is a bug fix release and can be downloaded here. Should be OK now. If there is a user out there (at least one) please identify yourself ;)
