Best accessories for a used Q? Case? Strap? Lens Hood?

Been looking at the thumb rest. It's quite  design difference between them - I might ending ordering both and then return one of them, which I don't really like to do things that way....

On this Q version, the SD card and battery are easily accessible.  They upgraded the case design on this latest black one, embedded magnets on the bottom flap and a new tripod screen that screws into the bottom and secure the case to the body.  Sadly no "Angelo Pelle Handmade in Italy" on the bottom leather like my brown one fro them.

really??? I bought my case in November 23rd.....mine has the red interior, and actually says made in italy beneath their log but inside. No magnets, just the leather notch

- just looked on his website and there is no mention of that or pictures of the upgraded version

I'm a bit pre-occupied with the sad news that my EVF seems to have failed one week into ownership but I can attach photos tomorrow that show the older and newer case differences.  But here are the main differences I see with both cases under a light.

Old Pelle case: No tripod screw under the bottom, large flap across the back to protect the rear LCD screen.Angelo Pelle hand made on bottom, there does appear to be embedded magnets on the flap with a notch at the end.  Nice metal hand grip on the front.

New Pelle case: Tripod screw, small square insert with clear plastic retaining flaps to cover the rear LCD screen, small A/S logo in the red suede inner lining but nothing on the outside, embedded magnets with flap enabling battery and SD card access.  No hand gip on the front.

Leather is great on both.  Stitching fairly uniform and a nice waxed thread.  Since they use vegetable tanned leather my Saphir shoe shine products did a great job renovating the older brown case.

The only thing I don't like is the thickness of the case. But this offers more protection I suppose.

Hope this extra detail helps.  It seems there was a major redesign at some point.  I wish I had more information about the move from Pelle to Smaldore and what that really means.

ok, from your description, I do have indeed the latest version - but the flap only goes to screw in the middle. However I do have the Q2M and the placement of sd card is different....

So, yes, the current case from AP is indeed made for the Q - both Q2 and Q2M have the sd card in a different location than the Q.

AdM case design allows the bottom to fully open - in two steps

 The thickness seems to be about the same - 3mm, but AdM uses to snaps to keep the lcd cover in place - AP case for the M240 has snaps too, not with the Q case

There are more differences, but with either artisan you get a superb handcrafted case
