I believe leica products had a significant price increase partly due to US tariff's so maybe zeiss are in a similar position?

I have my doubts that zeiss zm lenses will be around new for much longer especially with cosina voigtlander producing so many premium branded lenses.

US tariffs shouldn’t have any effect on Zeiss lenses shipped to the UK unless the origin was the USA.

I believe leica spread the cost of the tariffs worldwide,by that meaning they did not pass the cost onto USA customers but spread the increase equally worldwide.

I suppose zeiss and voigtlander products leica fit product prices are set according to leica brand prices, meaning that if say the 35mm summilux FLE goes up in price so will the equivalent cosina made lenses.

But that's just my view/theory.

If anyone in the UK is looking to buy a Zeiss ZM lens do it before the 1st of Feb as there is a big price increase coming.

For example the Zeiss 35mm f1.4 Distagon ZM will now cost £1850 old price £1599!!

£1850 was the old price this time last year. I guess it’s going back to it’s original price

it’s Brexit.

What I read: The UK requires companies selling into the UK, to collect and remit the taxes, which creates a lot of new paperwork. The extra cost of this extra effort will be added to selling price, assuming they are still willing to do it at all. In some cases people will not be willing.

If the zeiss 35mm f1.4  distagon was £2,500 it would still be a bargain in my view, its wonderful.

I have the lens and it is the best I have ever used on my M, so agree totally!
