Hi all

I was checking out a CTOOM flash bracket in a camera shop and I just happened to have an m3 with me. The screw attachment on the CTOOM was too big for the tripod hole on the bottom of the m3. I’m sure I’ve seen people online using this bracket on even newer cameras than my m3 before but the shop assistant said it only worked on barnacks and the oldest/earliest of the m3s. Is this true or are there multiple versions of the CTOOM bracket?

I was actually somewhat saddened because I would have liked to have that bracket for flash on my other Ms

The CTOOM fits on all film Leicas. But it was available with two different screws. The larger german and the smaller british thread. Also the bottom plates of the Leicas had those different threads. So you should look for a CTOOM that fits to your Leica, or a bottom plate fitting to the CTOOM.

yours sincerely
Thomas
