MacSpikes Posted January 13, 2021 Share #1 Posted January 13, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Connected to my M1 Mac mini running Lightroom Classic I have a 27" NEC EA275UHD display. It performs well, is well built and can be easily calibrated. The room I work from is quite light (windows around), making it sometimes difficult to see the images well enough (and my ageing eyes do not help either). I was thinking about upgrading the display to something better with a higher brightness and possibly higher resolution (current NEC is 4K and 300cd/m2). The Eizo CS2740 ColorEdge sprung to mind, but the brightness is exactly the same as the NEC so that might not be the upgrade I am looking for. Then there is the LG Ultrafine 5K 27" display that was available through Apple only, but that seems unavailable. It does feature 500cd/m2 however. Is there another pro grade display that could fit my needs?

jaapv Posted January 13, 2021 Share #3 Posted January 13, 2021 When calibrating the suggestion by xRite is to set your display to 120 cd/m2. Otherwise your images will turn out far too dark in print and other screens. Better get a screen hood.
MacSpikes Posted January 13, 2021 Author Share #4 Posted January 13, 2021 I will give that a try Jaapv: thanks!
