Hi,

I am a bird photographer from Turkey. I have many leica and zeiss lenses, including apo elmarit 180mm, apo telyt 280mm f4, apo telyt 135mm 3.4 and latest zeiss superachromats (250Sa&350Sa) etc. I do not have any leica body. I tried them in several bodies and in collimation optic configurations.. linked photo is an example of apo telyt 135mm f3.4, in combination i. e. 135mm 3.4+Showtime DOF adapter attached to a sony ax100 camcorder. Yes it is a frame grab from a video file. Focal length is about 2500 mm (500 mm from camcorder and about 5X from 135mm+DOF adapter combination). I have been waiting a 16 bit capable body from Leica for my optical arsenal…

Are you using EVF to determine level of polarization?

Yes, I always evaluate with the EVF. I use a polarizer for almost all shots, unless I'm shooting into the sun or the light is getting dim.

Even with a wide lens (21, 28, etc), I like to use it to even out the sky and make any clouds pop, but it is much easier to judge the effect in the EVF than for instance, with the Leica swing out polarizer. I live at high altitude, so it's easy to turn a blue sky too dark with full polarization at a 90 degree angle to the sun and it helps to examine only the section of the sky that the lens is seeing.
