And "the guy"  Obviously done some work on these 2.  The B&W is actually very sharp but I was playing with some vintage setting or other either in Nick software or LR.  The other one i just had some tweaking of the contrast and color etc to give it a more vintage look.  So don't judge rendering on these 2, but it does show the 135 is still good for street shots to capture moments.

One more of "the guy". I got to talk to him as he spotted me. (not difficult to see the guy pointing at you with a 135mm lens)  Great guy.  He said he was a club promoter...but after reaching him to give him a copy of the pictures I learned his name is Brian Newman.  A Jazz Trumpet player of some notoriety.

Noise/Grain added on post to simulate old film. Silver Effx.  I don't normally convert with Silver effx anymore because I am lazy, so I just do it in LR.  But the results are much better if you take the time to go through the Plugin.

135 APO - using the LLL 1.25 magnifier - still hard to nail focus....

For some reason it is really not that difficult to focus with these lenses.  I suppose it depends on how far the subject is, but even then beyond some distance with the right F number you can focus well enough.  The girl walking into the subway was the most challenging becasue of the movement.  She was moving fast and then turned. I actually missed the shot (she would have been facing me, ideally.  She had a very powerful presence so I would have loved to get the shot a couple of seconds earlier)  but the resulting capture is still interesting to me.  The girl with the brush was sitting down and not far from me.  I literally just left BH in midtown and was sitting in front of the store on a bench having a soda and testing the lens for the first time.  Becasue I was testing and shooting on every direction possible I think she didnt reaize she was being captured at all... and the budhist monk was moving failry slow towards me as I walked back downtown throguh the highland.

Anyway, the lens focusses fas and accurately.  The 90 macro elmar does too. the 90 Cron f2 (pre ashperical in my case) is a little bit more challenging for some reason (Inthink the focus throw is broader).  The 90 apo never caused a problem for me.

Very interesting! I’d love to get better at rangefinder focus with higher focal length lenses as I feel using an EVF defeats the purpose and purity of this camera. That’s just a personal feeling.
