boilerdoc Posted August 22, 2007 Share #1 Posted August 22, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have the Milich adapter for the WATE. I'm guessing that with it in place you can't use it on the M7, correct? Thought I'd ask before I go and ruin some film finding out on my own! Thanks.... Advertisement Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Hi boilerdoc, Take a look here WATE on M7 Question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted August 22, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 22, 2007 You don't want to use an IR cut filter on film anyway.
boilerdoc Posted August 22, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted August 22, 2007 Hmmm. Why not, jaapv? Will there be vignetting with the adpater on? The adapter does extend the hood a fair amount, so I figure there will be. That's what I was actually asking. But the IR effect on film has got me curious now. Thanks....again. jaapv Posted August 22, 2007 Share #4 Posted August 22, 2007 Film is not especially IR sensitive, so it serves no purpose, but it will still exhibit the dreaded cyan shift towards the corners - nearly impossible to correct on film.
boilerdoc Posted August 22, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted August 22, 2007 Ah! Good point. B&W film would not be an issue but color definitely would be. Bummer. Still wonder about the vignetting question tho. Steve
ho_co Posted August 22, 2007 Share #6 Posted August 22, 2007 Steve-- The Milich filter adapter is made specifically and only for the M8. It will vignette on 24x36. That's why Leica's own WATE adapter is made to accept 67mm filters, not 49mm.
boilerdoc Posted August 23, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted August 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks, Howard. I kind of figured that was the case. I'll just take the adapter off if I do film shooting. Steve
