I had the same problem after a few months of use with the already  used Q i bought.
Now with the Q2 i have now for 18 Months i have no dust inside, but i taped mic and speaker (not positive if that helps but it don't bother either).

However there where 2 users complaining aout sand/dust in the outer lens making focusing noisy and rough.
Also when i read that some users use the Q2 unprotected in the rain or in extremly dusty environments then i wonder abit about their trust in environmental shielding by Leica.

I had ma Nikon D800 for 2 weeks driving around i dusty Oman and the white sands desert there and had no issues at all because the camera was stored in a camera bag

I personally would NOT leave the Q2 unprotected on the rear bench in my car driving with open windows in a desert
Aa cheap camera bag avoid problems after a - also not planned dusty trip - inside the outer lens and maybe also inside the lens and sensor.

Some folks had problems with dust getting on the sensor of the original Q =Q1.  I did not because I taped over the holes on the top and back lower right side.    Have any of you Q2 users/owners had a problem with dust on the Q2 sensor?

Jaapv beat me too it! Entirely agree. Moreover I am at a loss to understand where this thread is intending to take us. Given the thread activity about dust on the early releases of the Q one would expect there would have been plenty of activity with the Q2 if there were a problem. Secondly the OP did not get dust on the sensor ‘because’ he taped the holes. Many including me got no dust and did not tape holes.

I don't think that taping over microphone holes on a weatherproofed camera makes much sense...

I don't know how weatherproof the Q2 really is as there where users here who either had humidity from rain or dust in the focus mechanism.

As a small stripe of black gaffer tape dont really disturb, i prefer to be safe than sorry and i see no negative impacts for me and my camera by doing that.

I’ve not seen any posts saying it’s a chronic problem on the Q2. Yes, the sand in the lens focusing ring caused problems. Not surprising. The Q2 seems to be weather sealed assuming one uses reasonable precautions. I treat my Canon R5 and Q2 the same. Always in a bag in dusty environments. Pull out, take a pic, back in the bag. I’ve never had any problems with this approach.
