leicauserm10sa Posted December 18, 2020 Share #1 Posted December 18, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) It seems to have happened in the past week. Sensor is clean and running the latest 2.7.5.0 firmware. Live view in zoom mode is whacky too. All images now have these burning/ banding/ fringing only on the top of the image. Tried resetting and different lenses too. Is it buggered? Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 Hi leicauserm10sa, Take a look here Anyone seen this green & black burn/banding on their M10?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted December 18, 2020 Share #2 Posted December 18, 2020 That looks nasty - I would send the camera to Leica to sort it.
adan Posted December 18, 2020 Share #3 Posted December 18, 2020 Jaap is almost certainly correct.....but a couple of diagnostic questions. Can you see this in images uploaded to your computer (i.e. not being displayed by the camera LCD)? Do you see this on the LCD when looking at menus or other things not involving images? That would at least isolate whether it is an acquisition failure (the sensor, and/or the electronics that acquire data from the sensor) or a display failure (the LCD itself, and/or the "driver" firmware that reproduces the images on the LCD). The M8, when it first came out (and I do mean literally the first batch shipped), produced this kind of "waterfall" image corruption - looked like sensor failure, but was actually a clocking problem elsewhere in the electronics (the operating system allowed the shutter to fire before the sensor was fully "ready" to capture an image). That was solved with a firmware rewrite to re-arrange some commands.
leicauserm10sa Posted December 18, 2020 Author Share #4 Posted December 18, 2020 Thanks Adan and Jaap, I've attached an example of the raw file, which spits out the same image. I'm assuming it is a driver / electronics issue since the sensor is clean. It does it intermittantly, where some photos come out fine, and then 80% come out unusable. I've spoken to Leica repair centre and they're having a look at it. I was hoping it would be an easy fix, but I'm starting to think it's a repair job. Any ideas are welcome though. I can't seem to downgrade the driver either. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members!
