Just back from a 3 week safari in Tanzania and Kenya. We photographed 82 lions, 5 leopards, 8 cheetahs, and 17 rhinos. It was wet, muddy and amazing. I won't make you suffer through all of the photos but I will post a few of the highlights. Here's a few shots of a momma cheetah catching lunch for her little boy. Everything was shot with a SL2S using a Sigma 100-400.

I've seen films of a cheetah hunt but it is over in the blink of an eye. We backed off when she crouched down and rejoined her after she brought the Thompson's Gazelle down. Shot a few photos and then left them to enjoy their lunch in peace.

The boy's learning. His jaws are still a bit small but he's getting the idea.

This was the first lion. He's an old boy with three wives. We first ran into him on foot, hiking with a ranger (armed). Got a few shots but the lions were in heavy brush. Later, we drove the Land Cruiser into the brush and there he was looking up with those sad eyes. SL2S 100/400.
