yst Posted August 21, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted August 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) The little D-Lux 3 is fun as a little recorder for normal unimportant photos such as this one attached, while the cameras of the R and M systems with slides are for real photography. yst Posted August 22, 2007 Author Share #4  Posted August 22, 2007 Unumportant photos ? This is a real good one. I would be proud to take such a good shot.Pierre-Olivier  Thanks, when I said that it was because that I do use Leica R/M system with slide films for best results and best evidence as it is "real" without possibility of "digital manipulation", due to my photographic idea and goal is my words of : "To Capture the Moments of Truth in Nature and Culture", and I always follow that and I will like to have my audience to realize and to believe that.  With slides I can show the hard copy of my images with the best optical results, particularly projected with Leica projector/lenses. However there is no real comparison between "digital" images (with the little D-Lux) and slides taken with modern Leica lenses, optical quality wise... on computer screen they do not look much of difference. Of course the subject matter, the idea of thought, the composition and the moment in an image come first before any "good optical quality"...  Also when having or facing worthwhile or important subjects, I will always take slide film images. For photo-diary type of casual shoots and for compositional practices, the little D-Lux is fine, just for fun. But my slide-shows and Exhibitions in prints always done with the images from original slides.  The below is another exercise of compositions in the same spot: (some may like this one better than the earlier one)
spylaw4 Posted August 22, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted August 22, 2007 Great photos both. I do prefer #1 and IMHO #2 would be improved if the title was removed from the sky, maybe added to the lower border!
wolfgangbraun Posted August 23, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted August 23, 2007 The beautiful picture shows one aim reached : the old village of Lhasa which several years ago had been situated instead of the naked place in front of the potala just at the base and the beginning of the pilgrim`s walk has been removed completely. Not one house is left. Just make your thoughts. greetings, Wolfgang
