Iso allocated to a dial?

Hi,

i am currently renting an sl2 to see if it’s right for me

I like to shoot with a dedicated iso dial at the back.

so far I have to press a custom button to bring up iso that then interferes with my shot

can it not be set to just the dial?

I don't think so

The dials on SL2 are for exposure compensation and time and aperture. Most people use Auto ISO.

There is an option to change the dials directions and functionality depending on the program mode.

As above the SL2 requires a button press first to bring up the ISO menu. You can set this to any of the customisable buttons. The camera doesn't have a dedicated ISO dial.

I too change ISO manually and often. I think after a bit of use that it becomes intuitive enough you'll no longer think about it. I don't feel it holds back my shooting speeds and there's no need to lower the camera from your eye. I also like the lack of intermediate ISO's on the Leicas. Getting from ISO 100 to 800 is just three clicks.

One can assign one of the unmarked buttons as a call up to the ISO selection directly. So you will see the ISO selection within 2 quick steps instead of searching for the ISO selection through the long list of menu. You can also preselect your required ISO and other camera settings and save them as a user profile under a name in one of the six user profile memories stored in the camera. One push of a button will bring you to your desired settings including back button focusing.

I just stick to iso 100 and use ibis
