It just sold for €250,000.00

This is not photography but hoarding of goods with potential to go up in price.  It is kind of price one pays for Unicorn, 250K, some people have more money than atoms in universe.

There are real world lenses that come close in focal range and adaptability even to M RF camera for more down to earth price tag.  For instance Meyer Optik  or similarly enterprising  outfit could cobble similar optical lens without RF coupling and it would probably only cost 2500,  which is only 100 times less than the above mentioned Leica-Shmaika lens.

Only a couple were ever made at the very highest of tolerances so it's a museum piece. Apparently it was far too expensive to manufacture so Leica cancelled it.

Wow, only few manufactured, do I have to drop on my backside in revered amazement.

The lens as envisaged  has useful focal range but it is slow lens, position shared with slowest of all current retro models 28mm f5.6. Leica most probably hit the QC brick wall how to achieve frame line selection to actually work reliably, the concept is failure if it can’t be converted into the marketable product.

O...K....

It's just a prototype dude, don't blow a gasket.

I would find it a very useful lens.
