Shot on my M10-P.  I like this little lens, I've been shooting this hyperfocal at F8, but I focused this one. Vignettes pretty good, even closed down a bit!  Click through for a sharper image!

Just now, pedaes said:

Details please (Perar)?

MS optics are Japanese handmade lenses, Miyazaki.  They tend to run in small batches, this is a tiny pancake lens, with the diaphragm external to the lens elements.  Japan Camera Hunter usually has a few of his odds and ends.  I have this one and a 35/3.5 if I remember correctly that is similar, but collapsible.  Pics of lens from internet, not mine nor my M6!

I have the MS-Optical 24/4 Perar and it's a tiny rectilinear lens that takes up next-to-no space in your camera bag.

One interesting thing is that the aperture diaphragm is on the outside of the lens rather than between lens elements (presumably to assist its tiny form factor).

I agree with Lawrence, the performance is surprisingly good for the humble little lens.  It's not going to compete with a Super-Elmar but it'll be with you when the S-E might not have come along for the ride.

Pete.

Yes, those exposed aperture blades used to make me nervous until I found a suitable protective filter, which is inevitably a time-consuming undertaking with most of Miyazaki's lenses, due to all sorts of idiosyncrasies - such as odd sizes, external threads, hood construction, etc. Ditto for finding a practical cap to replace the original (tiny and screw-in) one.

Fun fact: the 1st batch of the Perar 28/4 (made in 2012) featured a typo, so that some of us are the proud owners of an innovative optical formula called a (Super) Tpirlet.😄
