Big, eerie, majestic, magnificent, and quite possibly the most photogenic of all the Utah parks - with colors and geological formations you won't see anywhere else. I don't know why, but every time we've gone it seems we're the only people there. Seems like the majority of visitors to Utah automatically head for Zion, Bryce Canyon and Arches, all truly worthy destinations but I submit they'll miss the impressive beauty of Capitol Reef.

Earlier this year we spent a few days hiking and photographing the area - unforgettable.

All images - Leica SL/  24-90 V.E. or 16-35 S.V.E, my beloved RRS tripod with the RRS.BH-55 ballhead. B & w conversions in Lightroom V, the last version I purchased outright and continue to use because I really object to the monthly rental offering.

Nothing at all strange about preferring the clor images...............you're 100% correct.
