Hello everybody,

I've recently upgraded to the M10R and I'm very satisfied with the results.

However, I've noticed that to operate the thumbwheel it's necessary to move the thumbwheel in two consecutive steps. Normally, it should be one step only, like any other M10 cameras, including the recent M10M.

Not the end of the world, of course, but it's quite time consuming for zoom in / zoom out operations (either for LV / EVF or for picture's review).

I'm not sure whether it's a software bug of my specific camera, or if it's a decision of Leica to make the thumbwheel less "sensitive" to sudden changes (for example, when using the thumbwheel for controlling the exposure compensation).

It'd be great to know if anyone else is having the same experience.

Thanks a lot!

Cheers,

Andrea

It's standard behaviour of the M240 I had in the past and the one I have now. Most of the time the first click with the thumbwheel is ignored when operating exposure compensation or zooming in. Funny that this is still an issue with the latest Leicas.

Hi Andrea,

I've just tried it on my M10R – one step is enough to dial in new values. Exactly the same as in my M10M. Perhaps your camera had to "wake up" first from standby?

Hope this information helps

Michael

Thanks a lot Michael,

unfortunately it happens regularly,  most probably it’s a software bug on mine.

Thanks Tom,

didn’t know that the M240 had the same “problem”. With my M10R is always 2 clicks no matter what, at least it’s not unpredictable.
