Leica R&D will have an easier design concentrating on the 12v DC power source for the Leica mobile travel charger. More scope in the DC-to-DC scheme of things than that from USB. Almost certainly the Achilles' Heel of the NITECORE product (committed to USB and modular customisation for their per brand per camera range). Also Leica have previous experience doing similar for the M10 offering. I wouldn't say no to a triple source (120-240v AC, 12v DC and plain old USB) but if, push came to shove, most people (including me) would probably and gladly accept just having the 12v DC source for the car and a chunky power block transformer for the auto-ranging 120-240v AC down to 12v DC side of things when back at base/home.

Leica things...

ok, say whatever you want to say about flaws and things that sometimes don't work as expected in a Leica camera, but just noticed how clever the battery was designed, or actually the battery compartment

No door, right? So reinforce the battery with dust seals. So now you slide the little lever and the battery pops. Big deal - other cameras have similar setup, some sort of a clip, latch that keeps the battery in place after opening the little door.

But this Leica has no door; so what does Leica do? designs the battery and compartment with a groove and tiny knob, requiring now a second bump, to intentionally remove the battery.

turning the slide does not make the battery come out, or drop off

Almost so simple, so clever and comes natural enough that not even have to think about it. That's Leica -  just shoot
